Santiago, Cape Verde
A MOVEMENT + ADVENTURE RETREAT
April 17 - 24, 2027
fire in cape verde
Join Fire Studio in Santiago, Cape Verde for an intimate week of movement, adventure, culture, and connection off the coast of Africa.
Our home base is Tarrafal, a laid-back coastal village surrounded by dramatic mountains, lush valleys, and beautiful beaches. Swim in turquoise water. Wander through local villages. Hike through the mountains of Serra Malagueta. Share long lunches and dinners filled with fresh, local flavors. Watch the sun disappear over the Atlantic. And make time for the kind of rest that rarely makes it onto the calendar.
This is wellness without the rigidity, movement without pressure, and adventure without rushing. Seven days. One beautiful island. A little more room to breathe.
Where We’ll Stay
Perched above the Atlantic in Tarrafal, Santiago, Casa Strela is a small, intimate guesthouse made for travelers who want to experience Cape Verde at a slower, more authentic pace. With just a handful of rooms, an open-air rooftop terrace, sweeping ocean views, and the beaches of Tarrafal just steps away, Casa Strela offers something increasingly rare: a place that feels personal, peaceful, and connected to its surroundings.
How We’ll Move
Each day begins with energizing morning workouts designed to invigorate your body and sharpen your focus. Sessions rotate between dynamic circuit training, core-strengthening Pilates, and high-energy boxing to keep things fresh and engaging for all fitness levels, and will take place either on the terrace or at the beach. As the sun sets, the pace softens with calming evening Vinyasa yoga sessions that flow seamlessly through breath and movement, helping you unwind, stretch, and restore. During the day, stay active and strong through hiking, swimming, kayaking, biking, and more!
Brandon and Tiana will be your movement guides! Tiana started dancing at the age of 2 and developed a love for the body, movement, and exploration. She is passionate about finding joy in movement, creating balance inside and outside of the gym, and challenging her limits— and about showing others they can do the same. Brandon’s love of fitness started with track and field, competing in both high school and college and eventually becoming a coach. In his pursuit of physical strength, he strives to bring awareness and mindfulness to all athletic endeavors. They are certified personal trainers, yoga teachers, and life coaches.
Where We’ll Eat
Cape Verdean cuisine is a reflection of the islands themselves—Atlantic, soulful, resourceful, and deeply connected to home. Food here is simple in the best possible way: fresh seafood pulled from the ocean, locally grown vegetables, beans, corn, rice, tropical fruit, and slow-cooked dishes layered with flavor and tradition. Along the coast, expect plenty of fresh grilled fish, lobster, octopus, tuna, and other Atlantic seafood, often prepared simply to let the quality of the ingredients shine. Local produce, tropical fruit, homemade breads, and traditional stews round out the table. During our retreat, we'll make food part of the journey—discovering local restaurants, tasting traditional dishes, enjoying fresh seafood, and experiencing the flavors that make Santiago uniquely Cape Verdean.
